Minimum Qualification Requirements

To register with the CPR, registrants must meet the minimum qualification requirements, and hold the Care Certificate.

The Care Certificate provides a strong baseline qualification, however, the CPR will also recognise alternatives such as formal qualifications, and relevant experience, allowing flexibility in ensuring care workers meet the necessary competencies for registration. This inclusivity is vital for accommodating diverse backgrounds and career paths while maintaining high standards in care delivery.

Alternative accepted qualifications include:

  • Level 2, Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Health and Social Care
  • Recognised Continuous Personal Development (CPD) Courses in Care or Health
  • Prior Qualifications in Related Fields (e.g., Social Work, Psychology)
  • Vocational Qualification from Relevant Sector Bodies (e.g., Skills for Care)
  • Nursing Qualification or Healthcare Assistant (HCA) Training

Evidence of Qualifications

Registrants will be required to prove their qualifications by uploading a copy of their certificate(s) during the registration process.
